The Advisory Council advises the REMC Board in the following areas:
- Policies and procedures
- Development of REMC services which support the curriculum objectives of the schools that are served.
- Previewing and selecting of equipment and materials and establishing standards for same
- Relating local education needs to the regional educational media center
- Planning and evaluating services and programs
- Providing communication between the REMC and the local schools
- Advising on other critical areas of concern
