Updated -- REMC Contract Provides Microsoft Products at Reduced Cost to Eligible Students and Staff
Students and staff of Michigan schools may purchase a variety of Microsoft software products for home through a new REMC (Regional Educational Media Center) statewide contract.
REMC has recently established a Microsoft Student Select contract that makes Microsoft Office and other Microsoft products available for home purchase. Program information, the eligible products list and ordering takes place through the EdResources website. Students, faculty, and staff may purchase only one copy of eligible products per version and are required to verify eligibility to participate.
Student Select software will be shipped to the student/faculty/staff’s home address. Orders must be paid for by credit card or money order.
Eligibility to participate must be verified. Verification may be done through a variety of electronic or off-line means, including faxing evidence of current student enrollment or staff employment to Journey Ed. Evidence such as class schedule, grade report, student ID card, letter from district office principal must include name, district, building, current years date, and student ID number or code. Staff may use a payroll stub which includes employee and employer name, payroll date, employee number (blacken out salary and social security number).
This program provides significant savings for our local students and teachers who wish to use Microsoft software on their home computers. Questions about the program can be answered by the REMC #1 staff at 482-3907.
